Bringing Back my Pandemic Tip Streak

Uncategorized· Video

20 Nov 2020

Back in April when the coronavirus pandemic was fairly new and businesses were facing enormous uncertainty, I shared a free, 20-day “tip streak.” The idea behind it was to provide you with a tip each day that built on previous content and combined learning and strategy WITH action and implementation.

By the end of the tip streak, businesses were already implementing long-term marketing programs.

As the pandemic continues, and we face a wave of infections that has sent most states and counties back to more restrictive guidelines, I want to call your attention to this tip streak again. Maybe you are new to my audience, or maybe you didn’t have time initially to participate. Whatever the case, I know there are businesses out there who will benefit and I truly want to help as many small businesses survive this crisis as possible.

And here’s the exciting part… I purposely made this simple and beginner-focused, but there are nuggets for the more advanced as well.

I advise you to take one tip each weekday and implement it. We’d love to hear from you if you are participating at [email protected]. Not only does letting us know allow us to follow your progress, but it also opens up a line of communication between us should you have questions.

1)      Getting started
Here’s how to best use the tips to follow. Good luck!

2)      Consistency and authenticity
This post outlines simple ways that you can add a personal touch to your social media, which is much better for engagement and conversion. It’s a baby step strategy… we’re not asking you to go too far out of your comfort zone!

3)      Stop Playing Darts:  It’s So Hard to Win
A good content strategy is a struggle for many businesses. Here is one simple strategy that will boost conversions up to 30%

4)      Throwback Thursday
We’ll use this common social media theme to add authenticity to your social media (building on day two’s tip). I’ve also included a mini hashtag lesson (yes, they are useful but only if you’re strategic).

5)      Email Marketing:  Your Conversion Hero
I discuss WHY email marketing is a better digital conversion tool than virtually anything else, and I teach you HOW to use it, both strategically and technically.

6)      Scarcity for the Win
Learn how to pair a powerful psychological marketing technique with actions you’re already taking in your business.

7)      How to Boost your Visibility by 1200%:  Not a typo
Take advantage of the “reality TV effect” and go “live” on social media. I’ll take you through it step-by-step. Already “going live?” Great—repurposing tips are coming soon!

8)      Do you Want Proof of That? (Yes, we usually do…)
We’re going to use the testimonial you collected a couple of days ago and use it to “amplify your ask” thereby increasing conversions.

9)      Recycling is not Just for Plastic Bottles
I highlight three highly effective ways you can reuse your Facebook Live videos to boost your online presence.

10)   Email Taken Up A Notch
Congratulations! You’re halfway through!
Marketing 101 tells us that to make a conversion, the consumer needs several “touches.” The amount of those touches has varied (increased) over time, but one thing remains the same:  The consumer needs many reminders. Learn how to use your weekly emails to make some of these touches, using content you’ve ALREADY produced.

11)   Ask for Engagement and you Shall Receive
What are two ways you can increase engagement (meaning actual comments and reactions) on social media? Hint:  One of them is asking. Read this tip to learn the other.

12)   Do It Again
One of the reasons I suggest going chronologically through these tips is because they build on each other. Today we build in consistency to our strategies by repeating a key action that should become a weekly part of your online marketing calendar.

13)   Be Part of the 2% and Stand Out
This LinkedIn strategy is underutilized and always over performs. Enjoy!

14)   A Simple Approach to SEO
I am sharing a strategy that’s accessible for laypeople when it comes to improving SEO (yes, it IS possible to improve your SEO without hiring a firm for thousands of dollars a month).

15)   Elevating Email Marketing
You should be taking several actions in your weekly emails and I remind you of all of them in this post. I also suggest an easy list-building strategy via direct messaging on social media.

16)   Bringing it All Together
Here I talk about content batching and consistency… complete with a free content calendar.

17)   Make Writer’s Block A Thing of the Past
I am sharing some of my favorite writing prompts with you (52 of them)! Now you’re set for every week of the year, I truly hope you never suffer from Writer’s Block again.

18)   Speaking of Writing…
We all make a common mistake while writing that I’m teaching you how to turn around in this tip.

19)   Your Weekly Process
Here I go over how to integrate and repeat the steps I’ve taught you each week for a consistent online marketing program.

20)   The Most Important Tip of All
Cue the confetti! You made it through the tip streak. Today I share with you the most important tip of all to boost your confidence as you embark upon your marketing program.

Whether you’re building your personal brand or growing your business, we all know storytelling is powerful. But there’s one piece of the story puzzle that often gets overlooked: the obstacle. “Vanessa changed my life. This is not an exaggeration. I learned more about marketing and brand management from Vanessa in one weekend than I did in YEARS of trying to navigate these subjects on my own. Vanessa has a way of presenting material so that it is easy to understand, effective and immediately actionable. She makes complex concepts simple and accessible. With her many years of experience, she is able to teach real-life lessons that you can implement to launch or improve your business today. Most of all, Vanessa can see your potential and vision sometimes better than you can see it yourself. She truly believes in her students and clients and has a unique way of helping them make their dreams a reality. I did not always think of myself as a thought leader in my industry but Vanessa inspired me to look at my career in new ways. She has helped me bring forth opportunities that I never thought were possible. I am so thankful to have her in my life and forever appreciative of the impact she’s had on both my personal and professional endeavors. Vanessa uses her special gifts to help bring out yours.”

“I like how Vanessa begins with the end in mind. She has you strategically understand your goals, ideal customer, and offer first, then teaches you how all the rest applies. It’s not tied to one thing, but rather, it’s an integrated approach. I would like to create online products for my business and Vanessa really reaffirmed the possibilities. She also highlighted how simple it can be to get them started.”

“Vanessa’s careful nurturing of her clients, her guidance, and her cheerleading have been invaluable to me. The amount of information you get in her workshops and online course is staggering… it includes email marketing, social media, paid traffic, content creation and so on… email marketing was especially valuable for my business. I would recommend her to anyone looking to increase their organization’s online marketing presence.”

“We actually slowed down our marketing plan to keep up with all the new business!

Vanessa has expert knowledge of marketing techniques, but what is really special is the way she helps her clients understand and apply those techniques. She is a great mentor and coach.”

“Vanessa’s strategies have allowed me to significantly outpaced competitors in fundraising revenue generation. But what I really appreciate is her passionate approach, the way she cares about each individual person she works with, their mission, and how it can change the world. Her marketing strategies can’t be found in any textbook but they work significantly better than the ones I find there.”
