Have you seen a “Throwback Thursday” post before? People usually post these types of posts to illuminate fun personal memories… but they don’t just have to be on your personal feeds.
What’s a memory you can post about your business today? I’ll go first. “I remember when my son was five days old. I never took maternity leave because I wanted to keep my business going. I’ll never forget the 8 a.m. meeting I ran on behalf of a client that day. It went well, despite my exhaustion, and I made it through that meeting by picturing the moment that happened right after… check out the snuggles in the photo. Life requires a lot of juggling, but the sweet moments make it worth it.”
What’s a memory that you can post about your organization? Bonus points if you get a little personal… remember Tuesday’s tip… it really does work. Here’s your prompt: I remember…
In addition to writing the post, I’d like you to use the hashtag, #throwbackthursday. Then, I’d like you search on Instagram for four other relevant hashtags to your post. Just start by thinking of different phrases that go with your post and type them in the Instagram search bar with a # in front of them. Hashtags that come back with hundreds of thousands to a million posts are good ones to choose. Hashtags with more than a million posts tend to get your posts lost in the shuffle, while hashtags with below 100,000 posts are less visible. We can get REALLY in the weeds with hashtags, but I am going to leave it there for now. The important thing is to DO it.
Now, post the five hashtags with your post on all social media platforms you are on. If you’re only on Facebook, today would be a great day to download the Instagram app and get a business account started. Or, if you’re B2B… start posting on LinkedIn.
